Rice sack laundry bag- 6 variations
These extra large bags feature a cotton drawstring closure on the top and are roomy enough for the biggest laundry loads, or as storage for linen, towels and so on. Handmade by a Fair Trade company in Sri Lanka, they are a wonderful adaptation of the large sacks that are used across Asia to transport rice, grain and other commodities, which would otherwise get burnt or go to landfill waste dumps. Now they make excellent storage bags and provide employment at a fair wage for the women who make them.

The perfect solution
I contacted Serendip to see if they might be able to add a bag of this size to their range in order to use as a laundry bag inside a wooden laundry bin. I had something similar already. It is beautifully made, and thoughtfully designed with a cotton drawstring top, and I was so delighted that Serendip could be both flexible and willing to have a go at a new item. I really hope other people like it too - it really is a perfect solution for the problem of keeping laundry contained and easy to transport up and down stairs! Thank you Serendip x
