These shopping bags are made from upcycled plastic rice sacks by a Fair Trade-certified company in eastern Sri Lanka. They are practical, well-made bags, complete with inside pockets and sturdy cloth handles. They can be folded up small and fastened with a popper, so they can easily fit into your handbag or pocket when not in use. Repurposing rice sacks in this way helps reduce the amount of plastic that goes into landfill and provides income to women in rural areas.
